Professional Experiences
Here are some of the experiences that exposed me to the professional world. These opportunities allowed me to apply the skills and knowledge I gained during my studies in real-life situations, while also learning about the demands and challenges of the workplace.
Model Maker
COTON_LELION_NOTTEBAERT - Brussels
As part of the renovation of a building into housing and offices by CLN and Matador agency, the ground floor was highly partitioned and dark, making it difficult to perceive the space.
So, I was asked to create a large-scale model of the area. The purpose of this 1:50 scale model was to provide a clear vision of the entire space, to assist the CLN agency in designing the office portion.

Internship at an architecture firm

In the context of a rehabilitation project, before even beginning to sketch a design, it is crucial to conduct a thorough assessment of the existing conditions. This step allows for an understanding of the current state of the building, identification of any potential issues or deteriorations, and assessment of intervention possibilities. Furthermore, it reveals the structure, existing architectural logics, and the history that shapes the building.
This analysis highlights both the strengths and weaknesses of the building, thereby creating an essential basis for conceptual proposals and budget estimation. In essence, the diagnostic proves to be a particularly valuable tool. It not only provides a detailed portrait of the property’s condition to present to the owner but also initiates the groundwork for future project planning while assessing the financial implications.

Internship at a Landscape Architect Firm
SLAP Paysage
During my internship at a landscape architecture firm, I had the opportunity to immerse myself in the world of landscape design and planning. As an architect, it was interesting to see and understand how landscape offices operate and their relationships with plants. I had the chance to work on the "methodological note," an essential element for understanding the context at different scales before the initial project sketches. Additionally, I assisted the landscape architect during a client meeting where the client wanted to redesign their garden, so I had to translate the garden into digital format and propose some sketches. Ultimately, the world of landscape architecture is not far from that of architecture; both work with space, although they use different materials.
Construction Internship
Rouzé SA - Lille
As part of my architecture degree at St. Luc Tournai, we were required to complete a 3-week internship on a construction site, with the goal of contributing both intellectually and physically to the progress of the project. This experience allowed me to gain insight into the construction industry and to compare the theoretical concepts learned in class with their practical applications.
