This project is a space for representation, where artworks and spectators engage in a dialogue of viewer/viewed. The architectural interventions serve as a backdrop and device for playing with shadows.
The intervention is at the service of the artist’s work, aiming to resonate with it as effectively as possible. Architectural choices have been made to respond most precisely to the artworks and the artist’s intentions.
THE WALL is made of plexiglass and vertical wooden posts suspended from the structure. Its function is to serve as a «backdrop» to the exhibition and to diffuse shadows and light across its surface.
THE FLOOR is horizontal and displays the sculptures. It is made of melamine laid on supports, engaging visitors’ sense of hearing by referencing the stage floor of a theater.
THE WOODEN CEILING asserts its presence and accentuates the scale of monumental sculptures by its proximity to them, or makes miniature models appear ridiculously small by taking more height than necessary.
